Project Overview:

This project was commissioned by the city of Tallinn, through the Japanese Embassy, to develop a Japanese garden within Kadriorg Park, a prominent public park under municipal jurisdiction. The project encompassed comprehensive landscape design and construction.

Design and Planning:

 

　·Site Selection and Assessment: Initially, I conducted a thorough site evaluation within Kadriorg Park to identify the optimal location for the Japanese garden. This process involved creating a foundational design plan and detailed construction drawings.

　·Project Oversight: I managed the entire garden creation process, including the installation of key features such as ornamental stones and stone bridges, collaborating closely with our skilled team members.

Implementation:

 

　·Renovation and Plant Selection: The existing pond's embankment was renovated, and tree species were selected from local botanical gardens to ensure compatibility with the local climate, while maintaining authentic Japanese garden aesthetics.

　·Inauguration Ceremony: Upon completion, a formal planting ceremony was conducted with the Mayor of Tallinn and the Japanese Ambassador in attendance. I provided a detailed explanation of the design concept to the local community, emphasizing the garden's cultural significance.
